Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Yearbooks Yearbooks are still on sale until the last day of school on the 15th. That date is fast approaching so grab a form and turn in your $16 before the year is over.


Reading Program at Ardis Missaukee District Library You are invited to join the summer reading program at Ardis Missaukee District Library. "On your mark, Get set, Read!" is a program for kids ages 0-100. Some of the summer happenings scheduled on Thursday's at 2:00pm include; Stand Strength Team, Olympic Games, Roary the Detroit Lions Mascot, Shake Rattle & Roll, Yoga Sol, and an ice cream social. There are registrations in the office. For more information, call the library at (231)-839-2166.


Sports Physicals Students: If you plan to participate in any sport next year, you will need to have a new sports physical. Physical cards are available in the office. You will not be able to participate in any practice until a physical card is on file in the athletic office.


Lost & Found All items in the lost and found area will be gone soon. If you are missing an item please be sure to look before the items are gone.


Students Any 7th grader who would like to take their atom model home may get it from Mrs. Bisballe’s room this week.


Volleyball For any 6th or 7th grade girl interested in playing volleyball next year, stop in the office and sign up during your lunch time.

Pig Roast Lake City Area Schools and Ebels General Store will be hosting a Community Pig Roast Tuesday, June 14th from 4-7pm. The Pig Roast will take place in the back parking lot of the High School and all are welcome to attend. Donations will be accepted and will go towards the Legacy Gift Program to further reduce our building expenses.

Summer is here! With the warm and sunny weather finally here we ask that you remember that sunglasses/hats are not to be warn in school. Also, shorts/skirts should be at least fingertip length. No tank tops. If any questions you can refer to the student handbook for more details. Thank you!

Cell Phone/Electronic Device Reminder Remember that all phones and electronic devices should be turned off and placed in your locker once school starts. Use of personal iPods, phones, or other electronic devices can be used during lunch time ONLY. If you need to use the phone for illness please use the office phone. If a student is found in possession of a cell phone it will be confiscated and parents will be asked to pick it up from school. A second offense will result in out-of-school suspension.

8th Grade Reminder to all 8th grade boys’ basketball players going to Grayling Summer League and Ferris State Team Camp, you will have a short practice today at the HS from 4:30-5:30pm. You can walk over right after school if you need to and wait during Varsity practice or go to the weight room until 4:30. Please make phone calls at lunch time if you need to arrange rides with parents. Please see Coach Besko if you have any other questions.


Money A significant amount of money was lost at the Variety Show this past weekend. There is a cash reward if you are the person who turns the money into any of our three offices.


Equestrian The LCMS Equestrian team took 1st place over the weekend. Nice job ladies!

Lake City Schools Variety Show Dress Rehearsal for the variety show will be June 3 at 5:30 with the actual Show on Saturday, June 4th at 6:00pm. The cost is $5 at the door, come on out and support our performers.


Yearbooks Yearbooks are still on sale. There are a few weeks left to order your yearbook. Forms are located in the office, hallway or library. Cost is only $16.

Boys Basketball Camps Attention: all boys’ basketball players interested in playing basketball next year please pick up a Lake City Basketball Camp registration form across from office. 6th and 7th graders grab the GREEN sheet, and 8th graders the BLUE sheet. The camps run June 20-23rd. Also, if you are an 8th grader who is planning on attending the Ferris State Team Camp please get your cash or check of $75 to Coach Besko as soon as possible. Girls Summer Sports Skills Camp For all girls entering 7th and 8th grade next year...we have summer sports skills camp for you to attend. The dates are June 15th - 17th. Stop by during your lunch time to grab a form. Form and payment must be retuned to the office by June 8th.


Honor Roll Day- Your permission slips for Honor Roll Day must be turned into the office today.


Library As most of you know already, the library will be closing for book check out, Wednesday, June 1st. All books will be due back by the end of that day. Notes will be going home Wednesday for any lost books also.
