Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Monday, December 03, 2012

Reminder to students that walk between the two buildings: You must walk up to Huron Street then walk over to the main building. Students are not to walk on Houghton Street.


The Missaukee County Road Commission.... ....requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place. We ask that you be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times that the buses are picking up students. We urge you to make sure that your children wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop. It is important that we work together to make certain of their safety.


Boys basketball season Our boys basketball teams play at Beal City tonight. Bus time is 4:15 pm


Snowmobile training: The Missaukee County Sheriff’s Department is offering snowmobile training on this Saturday, December 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The class is free; students must bring a sack lunch. Call to register: 839-4338.


Project Christmas The Project Christmas Food Drive will run through this Friday, December 7. The Project Christmas event is scheduled for this Saturday, December 8. Start collecting your donations of food. The homeroom with the most items donated will be rewarded with an ice cream sundae party!


High School weight room will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school to approximately 4:30 pm for all students 8th through 12th grades.


Dance! Dance! Dance! There will be a dance this Friday, December 7th from 3:05 until 5:00. The cost is $2. Pizza and pop will be sold. School rules apply. Have your ride here at 5:00.


7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball There is a sign up in the office. You will need a physical on file in order to try out for the team. Physical cards are in the office.

Boys basketball season Our 7th grade boys beat Marion last night. The score was Lake City- 33 Marion- 8 Great second half effort, super second half played by all 14 players! The boys 8th basketball team won their game last night 54-38. The teams play at Beal City on Monday. Bus time is 4:15 pm

Boys Basketball results: The 8th grade boys basketball team won their game last night against Northern Michigan Christian 36-17. Excellent defensive effort.

November schedule This week school will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hats On Days! Today, Student Council is hosting Hats On Day to raise money for The Foundation for Children with Cancer. Simply donate any amount of money and you get to wear a hat all day.
