The Missaukee County Commission on Aging is offering a family oriented self-protection program for Teens to Seniors.  Learn how to protect yourself and your family.  Cost is $5.00, Saturday, June 13, 10:00-12:00 at the Missaukee EMS Building.  Call 839-7839 to register. If you are interested there is a poster on the bulletin board outside the office with more information.

Just another reminder that there is no more charging in the lunch room and if you still owe for charges you need to get them paid as soon as possible.

 

All library books are due Friday, May 22nd.

 

The Lake City Boys’ Track Team traveled to McBain last night for the last meet of the

year. The guys really needed to step up after a crushing defeat at the hands of the Evart

Wildcats last week. Taking center stage at the conference meet was:

Dan Liestenfeltz with second in the high jump and third in the 200 meter hurdles.

Zach Stephan with a fourth place in the high jump. Levi Burkholder and Tom Platt placing first and fifth in the long jump. Storm Francisco and Ryan Vincent with second and third in the pole vault.

Gabe Ruell with a fifth in the shot put. Ethan Wagner with a fourth in the 3200 meter run and a seventh in the 1600 meter run. Ryan Vincent and AJ Gatica with first and third in the 55 meter hurdles.

The 800 meter relay of Stephan, Marion, Benavides and Burkholder with first place.

Kyler Root and Jeramie Lyle with second and fifth in the 800 meter run.

James Hollars and Tom Platt finishing first and fourth in the 100 meter dash.

James Hollars and AJ Gatica finishing second and third in the 400 meter dash.

The 3200 meter relay team of Lyle, Cuevas, Liestenfeltz and Root took the second place

finish. In the 70 meter dash, it was Storm Francisco with the first and Drew Marion with eighth.

The 200 meter hurdles ended with Dan Liestenfeltz third and Ryan Vincent sixth.

In the 200 meter relay, it was Levi Burkholder finishing second and Brent Benavides

finishing fourth. The 1600 meter relay team of Lyle, Marion, Kunkel and Gatica fought hard to get a

second place finish. Finally, the Lake City 400 meter relay team ended the season undefeated, storming to a

one second victory. When the dust settle and the scores were tallied, the meet results were:

Northern Michigan Christian 1.5

McBain

McBain 30

Pine River 50

Manton 61

Marion 89

Beal City 90

Evart 128

And finishing the meet with a final score of 177.5, your conference champion Lake City

Trojans. Congratulations, guys. Your coaches are very proud of you. It was a great

season!

Last night Lake City girls track team placed 5th out of 8 teams in the Highland Conference Meet

 

Placing for the lady Trojans where:

Shot put   with a new middle school record of 39 feet Sarah Taylor 1st, 

Long jump  Brook Horton 7th

High jump  Sophie Booms 3rd

800 run  Makayla Schichtel 3rd , Monica Smith 6th

1600 run   Annie Deforge 8th

100 dash   Brooke Horton 6th

400 run Haley Guest 2nd , Taylor Wilkerson 4th

70 meter dash   Brooke Horton 6th

200 hurdles Annie Deforge 8th

8th grade girls interested in playing Volleyball in the fall, there is a sign up sheet in the office and you can sign up at your lunch time. If you have any questions see Mrs. Nolan

 

8th grade girls interested in Volleyball there is an open gym this Sunday from 4-5:30 in the High school gym.

 

Any 8th grader on Free and Reduced lunch who needs a sack lunch from the cafeteria for the Greenfield Village trip needs to let the cafeteria know this morning or you will have to bring your own lunch.

Congratulations to 4 students that placed in the top 10 at state competition with their clocks.

Placing 3rd was Sophie Boom, 5th Marc Flanigan, 6th Laura Lafferty and 9th Garrett Cnossen.

All Regional and State projects will be on display at the Fine Arts Fair tonight at the high school.

Will the boys track team go to Mr. Randall’s room and the girls go to Mr. Robertson’s at this time.

 

If you are 14 years old and are interested in being a camp counselor this summer, see Mrs. Fichtner about Rose Lake Youth Camp in Tustin.  There are 5 weeks of camp and they have 8 tents to staff.  They need male and female counselors.

 

Just a reminder to our 8th graders tonight is Freshman Orientation at 7:00PM in the HS Auditorium
