Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Friday, December 18, 2015

6th Grade Camp Rotary Just a reminder that the office is accepting payment ($30) for 6th grade students heading to Camp Rotary during the last week of February and first week of March. This is a one week camp that students are excited to attend!


Hobby Day Hobby Day is today and will begin after lunch. Your teachers have your schedules.


Girls Basketball 7th and 8th grade girls basketball tryouts will be held Jan. 4th, 5th, and 6th. 8th grade will be from 3:30-5 and 7th grade will run from 5-6:30. You also have open gyms on the 26th of December and the 2nd of January from 9-11.


Lost and Found The box of Lost and Found items is getting quite full. Take a minute to check and see if any of it is yours before it gets sent to Goodwill.

Friday is "Dress-up in Silly Holiday Apparel" Day This Friday show your excitement for the holiday season by dressing up in your favorite "silly" or not holiday apparel; socks, sweaters, Santa hats, etc.


Friday is Popcorn & Hobby Day This Friday is our last day of school for the 2015 year. We look forward to seeing you in 2016 on January 4. In celebration of the season there will be an adjusted schedule in the morning. All students will attend their regular scheduled classes (shortened time) and then after lunch will enjoy "Hobby Day". Hobby Day includes several crafty, fun, and exciting activities led by teachers in the afternoon. There will be free popcorn during advisory hour as well. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Middle School!!

Basketball Red Sea Reminder: The boys’ basketball teams host Mancelona tonight and the girls’ basketball teams host Mancelona tomorrow night. Get there with your Red Sea t-shirts on and support both teams in the student section! You must be wearing your shirt to get into the game for free. Free Throw-a-Thon: Reminder to all 7th/8th grade boys’ basketball players, make sure you are continuing to collect donations and pledges for the Free Throw-a-Thon next Wednesday Dec. 16th. Your goal should be to raise $100 which will earn you a Lake City ‘Why Not Us’ Basketball T-shirt. If you need an extra sheet see Mr. Besko. Good luck tonight to our Middle School teams as they head to Pine River to take on the bucks.

Girls Basketball There will be a meeting for all 7th and 8th grade girls that signed up to play basketball, this Wednesday during your lunch time. 8th grade will meet in the band room and 7th grade will meet in room 164. Grab your lunches first and head to your meeting. There will also be open gym for these girls, as well, Saturday, December 12th from 9:30-11 in the Middle School gym.


YMCA There is still room in one of the two pool session at the YMCA for honor roll day. If you are interested in swimming come in at your lunch time a sign up.


Basketball Our 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams put in a very good effort against a tough Beal City team last night but were unable to take the win. Nice job guys.

Pop Can Drive The final count is in for the pop can drive that was put on by the Problem Solving class....a total of $175.60 was split between the Wexford and Missaukee Humane Societies with Mr. Kent's advisory class bringing in the largest portion of that total! Congratulations to Mr. Kent's class who enjoyed popcorn this past Friday courtesy of the Problem Solving class. Thank you to all of who brought in cans!

Reminder Middle School Students should not be in the high school hallways after school. Once school is out, if you need to go to the elementary or high school to connect with a parent or sibling, please go directly to them. If you are hanging out in the hallways or lobby area without an obvious purpose, you will be expected to leave. Thank you.


Basketball Our 7th and 8th grade basketball teams played good games last night against the Evart Wildcats. The 7th grade won with a score of, 40-29 and the 8th grade team lost a close game in OT, 59-56. Nice job guys!
