Students: Remember if you are absent from school you or your parents can check the teachers’ blog to see what assignments you missed. 

 

If you are interested in being part of organizing school dances, raising money for the Missaukee Humane Society and other groups, and being involved in other school activities, than you may want to run for Student Council.  There are four positions available in the 6^th grade, three positions in the 7^th grade, and 2 positions in the 8^th grade.  Stop by Mrs. Gottschall’s room to get the sign-up sheet.  Voting will be Friday, September 24^th during Homeroom.

 

 

We have extra yearbooks!   If you did not order a yearbook last year and would still like to get one, please see Mrs. Swinehart in the library before school or during your lunch.

 

 

A reminder to students that picture day is next Wednesday, September 22.

 

The Missaukee County sheriff’s office is sponsoring an ORV training class on October 9 at the EMS building located at 404 1^st Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Class is limited to 20 students.  Students must bring a sack lunch and DO NOT need to bring their ORV to class.  You must pre-register by calling 839-4338 extension 1.

The Cadillac Elks Lodge will be holding soccer shoot this Saturday, September 18.  This will be held at the CASA soccer field.  Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the contest will start at 10 a.m. There is no cost involved to the participants.   Check out the flyer posted outside of the office for more details.

 

The Festival of the Pines Teen Dance is  tonight, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  There is a $2.00 entry fee. This dance is open to 6^th through 8^th grade.

 

In honor of Festival of the Pines, student and staff are encouraged to wear lumberjack attire – jeans and flannel shirts.

 

The middle school football team lost a tough game to Pine River last night – final score 48 to nothing.

Weather permitting we will be walking tomorrow.  Please plan accordingly.

 

We have extra yearbooks!   If you did not order a yearbook last year and would still like to get one, please see Mrs. Swinehart in the library before school or during your lunch.

 

Last Thursday our 8^th grade volleyball team played and defeated an improved Manton team 21-13, 14-21, 15-6,  and last night our 8^th grade team went up against Evart. Our ladies put on a serving show, putting up 17 aces and winning 21-9, 21-15, 21-11. Excellent job ladies.  We play NMC at home on Thursday at 5 p.m.

A couple of school notes: Students should not be walking on the shoulder of Houghton Street. If you are walking between the middle school and high school please go one block towards town and walk on Huron Street. Also to those students that walk to school, please watch for traffic before crossing the road near the entrance to the middle school.

 

All students must place their cell phones in their locker upon arrival to school.
