Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Friday, December 07, 2012

Reminder to students that walk between the two buildings: You must walk up to Huron Street then walk over to the main building. Students are not to walk on Houghton Street.


The Missaukee County Road Commission.... ....requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place. We ask that you be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times that the buses are picking up students. We urge you to make sure that your children wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at their stop. It is important that we work together to make certain of their safety.


Boys basketball season Reminder - there will not be practice tonight.


Snowmobile training: The Missaukee County Sheriff’s Department is offering snowmobile training on tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The class is free; students must bring a sack lunch. Call to register: 839-4338.


Project Christmas Today is the last day for the Project Christmas food drive. Project Christmas event is scheduled for this Saturday, December 8. The homeroom with the most items donated will be rewarded with an ice cream sundae party!


High School weight room will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school to approximately 4:30 pm for all students 8th through 12th grades.


Dance! Dance! Dance! There will be a dance today from 3:05 until 5:00. The cost is $2. Pizza and pop will be sold. School rules apply. Have your ride here at 5:00.


7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball There is a sign up in the office. You will need a physical on file in order to try out for the team. Physical cards are in the office.


Athletic pictures middle school boys basketball will have their pictures taken after school on Tuesday, December 11. You will need your complete uniform on that day.


Student Council members: please remember to leave your last hour class at 2:45 to set up for the dance.


Food Zone.... The Food Zone is open 3:25 to 3:55 at the high school cafeteria. Lots of food choices are available: hot pretzels, pizza, and more. You can purchase food with cash, or use your food service account.

Boys basketball season The 7th grade boys won over Pine River 51 to 15. Great game all the way around. The 7th grade will practice at 5 pm tonight. The 8th grade boys lost their game last night to Pine River 34-42. 8th grade practice tonight is right after school until 5:00. No practice for either team on Friday.

Boys basketball season The 8th grade boys basketball team won 49-38 against Beal City last night to improve to 4 and 4. The 7th grade boys lost to Beal 37 to 31. We play Pine River tomorrow night. Game time is 5 pm
