Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Friday, May 17, 2013

WEXFORD-MISSAUKEE CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER – The CTC will host a wide variety of summer camps for middle school students, June 17-19. The camps include culinary, floral design, and welding/metal fabrication. Information and registration forms are available in the middle school office.


Basketball camps! Manton is hosting their annual basketball camp. If you are interested, please stop in the office and pick up a flyer.


The library will be closing on Friday, May 31st. All books will be due back to the library Wednesday, May 29th.


GFV trip permission slips are due TODAY --  Friday, May 17!


The last dance of the year will be TODAY, May 17th from 3:05-5:00. The cost is $2. Pizza and pop will be sold. Have your ride here at 5:00.


Boys basketball camp! Boys in the 6th and 7th grade this year can sign up for basketball summer skills camp. Forms were sent home with you yesterday. Registration deadline is May 24.


Middle school track pizza party will be held Monday after school in the gym.


Pennies for Patients coin collection! Congratulations on a great job with the Pennies for Patients campaign! Remember to get any last minute donations into your classroom box, and we will announce the willing classrooms as soon as we have the totals. You all can feel very proud of yourselves, because with every penny, nickel, dime, quarter or dollar you donated, you helped save lives of cancer patients! Give yourselves a round of applause!

Track results. Last night the Lake City Middle School track teams competed in the Highland Conference Meet in McBain. Both teams placed 5th over-all. Thanks for a great season!


Pennies for Patients coin collection.... Goerge Washington may have been our first president, but he wasn't the first president on a coin. In 1909 President Lincoln appears on a one-cent coin and became the first real person, and the first president to appear on a US coin.

Pennies for Patients coin collection Every four minutes, another child or grown-up will be diagnosed with a blood cancer. Remember, your efforts are helping local kids with cancer and funding research around the world to find cures. did you know that it would take 270 billion pennies stacked up to tower 238,857 miles to the moon! Middle School track results The boys had a wonderful victory over Beal City last night, and the Girls track team tied with Beal City in their final regular meet of the season. The next meet will be our conference meet at McBain on Wednesday.

8th grade students high school orientation will be held tonight in the high school auditorium beginning at 6 pm


Pennies for Patients coin collecting.... The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. By raising funds, our school helps families who need LLS's Patient Financial Aid program. How many families will we help through Pennies for Patients?

Middle School track meets are scheduled for Monday, May 13, at home against Beal City and on Wednesday, May 15 at McBain. This is our Highland Conference meet.

This week, challenge yourself to talk to two people about the Pennies for Patients program.
