ANNOUNCEMENTS – Friday, October 21, 2011

Thank you to everyone who participated in Hats On Day.  You raised $172 dollars for the Foundation for Children With Cancer.  All money goes directly to the foundation and will be used to help families pay for medical bills, traveling costs, or any other expenses that may occur during treatment. Congratulations to all who participated.

The City of Lake City will celebrate Halloween with trick or treating between the hours of 6 and 8 pm on Monday, October 31.

The Missaukee District Library will hold a family Halloween bash on Saturday, October 29th beginning at 10 am.  There will be crafts, games, prizes.  Costumes are encouraged.

Reminder to all 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing basketball – you must have a physical before you can practice.  Practice starts Monday, October 24. 7th grade practice is from 3:15 to 5:00 pm 8th grade practice is from 4:45 to 6:30 pm

Reminder to students walking to the high school/elementary building... you must walk to Huron Street,  then walk over to the high school/elementary building.  You are not to walk on Houghton Street.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – Thursday, October 20, 2011

Student Council please report to Mrs. Gottschall’s room at this time.

The Lake City Middle School Cross Country team concluded their season Tuesday at the final Conference Jamboree meet at Pine River.  Despite the cold weather, great runs were had by all!  Nolan Linderman ran a 13:55 and came in 8th over all, earning himself Highland Conference honors!  Nick Trolz ran 16:23, Ravi Patel ran a personal best of 17:41, and Sadie Henneman ran 19:03.  Congratulations Trojan Runners for a great meet and a great season!

Middle school football team lost their last game last night – they finished their season with a record of 5-1.  All four coaches are proud of you.

The 8th grade volleyball made a great come back after their loss to Beal City winning 3 games of 5 last night against Pine River.  Pine River won the first game 22-25 and then the girls rallied together to win 3 straight 25-13, 25-17, 25-23 and dropped the last 23-25. 7th grade lost to Pine River. Catch them next Monday at McBain at 6.

The 7th grade volleyball team won last night against Beal City – 25-23 and 25-20.  Great job girls. 8th grade had their first loss of the season last night at Beal City. See them next at Pine River Wednesday at 4:30 pm.

Student/athletes:  pick up their trash bags today immediately after school.  Several of the orders are quite large and will not go well on the bus so students may need to make arrangements for a ride.
