Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Friday, March 04, 2016

3 on 3 It's 3 on 3 basketball tournament time! If you are interested in putting together a team we have flyer's across the hall from the office. We have tournaments coming up at Pine River, Reed City and Northern Michigan Christian Schools.


4-H Babysitting Classes Babysitting class registrations must be turned in today!


Spring Pictures next week- Wednesday, March 9th. All students will be photographed with flyers sent home and available in the office.


Reading Month March is Reading Month! Starting today, for any AR tests you take, every three points you earn will get you your name put into a drawing to win a $10 book fair gift certificate at the BOGO Book Fair in April. The first drawing will be this Friday. Also, all the names in the drawings will be eligible to win a Kindle at the end of the month. There will be one 6th grade winner, one 7th grade winner, and one 8th grade winner. There will also be a book fair gift certificate for the top readers by points in each grade. Listen for weekly announcements for drawings and other activities.


Track Team 7th and 8th grade students that are interested in running track, don't forget to come into the office and sign up during your lunch hour. You MUST have a current physical on file in the athletic office in order to participate in spring sports. If you are not sure if you have a physical please check in the office.


Baseball and Softball Summer Baseball and Softball sign-ups will be March 22nd and 24th in the High School Lobby from 5-7pm. Stop in if you are interested in playing.


Missaukee Mountain Missaukee Mountain will be open this Saturday from 10-6pm and closed Sunday. This will be the last weekend of the season.

4-H Babysitting Classes Learn the basics of Babysitting; basic First Aid, fire safety, how to handle problems and emergencies, child care and development, and more! The cost is $10 with classes starting March 8th. Classes are on Tuesday in March and April. See Ms. Porter for registrations which are due March 4th.

7th & 8th Grade Lock-In The Problem Solving class is hosting a lock-in on March 4th. Drop-off is between 8:00-9:00pm with pick-up on Saturday, March 5th between 7:30-8:00am. Permission forms need to be in no later than Wednesday, March 2nd. The cost is $12. Entertainment provided will be movies and games in the gymnasium for all to enjoy. There will be concessions as well.

Ski Trip If you have your money for the 3rd ski trip, please bring it to the office, now. If we do not get money this morning, we will be cancelling the ski trip.

Lake City Schools Variety Show Get your ACT together! It's time to show Lake City your true colors by putting together an act for a group or for yourself. You can sing, dance, play instruments, tell jokes, do a skit, or showcase another talent that you may have. AUDITIONS are Thursday, March 12 from 3:30-5:30p in the auditorium. DRESS REHEARSAL is Friday, April 15 at 5:30. SHOWTIME is Saturday, April 16 at 6:00pm

Batteries Don’t know what to do with your old batteries? Bring them to us. There are boxes in Mrs. Bisballe’s classroom and the office. Battery acid isn’t good for the linings in landfills and therefore we would like to make sure they are disposed of properly.
