Take a Stand Against Bullying Wednesday, February 25th
A simple pink shirt initially served as a target for school bullies at a Canadian high school.  Thanks to the efforts of two determined students, however, pink t-shirts now serve as an international symbol of empowerment.  It all started when 12th graders David Shepherd and Travis Price witnessed bullies harassing a 9th grader for wearing a pink polo shirt on the first day of school.  Deciding “enough was enough,” the two boys began an email campaign that same day encouraging their classmates to stand up to bullies by wearing pink t-shirts to school the next day.  They received an outpouring of support when hundreds of their classmates showed up in pink shirts the next day – and ultimately silenced the bullies.  Tomorrow, February 25th, you can be a part of an international movement against bullying by wearing a pink shirt.
