Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Friday, September 13, 2013 ...

ORV training class will be held September 21, 2013 at the Missaukee EMS Building, 404 1st Street. Class will run from 8 am to 2 pm. Class is limited to 20 students. Students must bring a sack lunch. Do NOT bring your ORV. Call The Missaukee County Sheriff's department 231-839-4338 ext 1 to pre-register.

3rd Annual Athletic Boosters Pig Roast will be held tonight from 5 to 7 pm at the Lake City Athletic Complex. Pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad will be served. $5 per person/$20 per family. Take outs are available. Proceeds from this event support Lake City Area Schools athletic programs.

Cadillac Elks Lodge will conduct it Soccer Shoot contest on this Saturday, September 14. It will be held at the CASA soccer field on Plett Road in Cadillac. Registration begins at 9 am with the contest beginning at 10 am

Student Council! If you are interested in being on Student Council please see Mrs. Gottschall to get the necessary paperwork. Student Council runs all dances and does a variety of fundraisers throughout the school year. There are 4 sixth grade positions, 2 seventh grade positions, and 2 eight grade positions. Paperwork must be filled out correctly and turned in to Mrs. Gottschall by Tuesday, September 17th. Voting will be Thursday, September 19th. Current Student Council members, please see Mrs. Gottschall as soon as possible if you plan to remain with the group.

Festival of the Pines Teen Dance will be held next Thursday, September 19 from 6:30 to 8 pm. The dance will be held in the food and beverage tent in downtown Lake city. Food and refreshments will be available. DJ will be Boo and Brendon Larson. There is a $2.00 entry fee. The dance is open from middle school students only.

PICTURE DAY! Our picture date is Wednesday, September 25! All students will have their pictures taken.

Volleyball results! The Middle School volleyball teams opened their season against the Ramblers of McBain last night. The 7th grade made a strong showing winning the match 25-10, 25-13 and 25-18. The 8th grade played a tough match, but fell short at the end of night 22-25, 24-26, and 22-25, they played as a team and have a great season ahead of them. Catch both teams next Thursday at Manton as they take on the Rangers of Manton at 6pm.
