Lake City Middle School Bulletin for Thursday, March 06, 2014

The Missaukee County Road Commission requests your cooperation through the winter months while snowplowing is taking place. Please be aware of the fact that the plows are on the roads many mornings at the same times as the busses. Make sure that you wait a safe distance from the plowed portion of the roadway until the bus actually arrives at the stop.

Camp Rotary tuition money can still be paid. Please drop your $40 tuition in the middle school office.

8th grade trip tuition can be paid at any time. The second installment is due by March 28.

Spring break will begin at the end of the school day on Friday, March 28. Students are expected back to school on Monday, April 7.

Caberfae Ski/snowboard Trip: The next trip has been changed to Thursday, March 13. Permission slips will be due on Wednesday, March 12.

March is Reading Month! For every 3 AR points you earn on tests in your reading level, you will have your name put into a drawing. There will be five drawings throughout the month of March where the winner will get a $10 gift certificate for the buy- one- get- one free book fair in April. Another $10 gift certificate will also be given to the student who earned the most AR points throughout the month of March. Also, every student whose name is entered in the drawings will be eligible to win a Kindle. There will be one Kindle winner per grade. The Kindle drawing will be at the end of the month. The first drawing for a $10 gift certificate will be Friday, March 7th. Only tests taken in March will count. So get reading!

Message from Mrs. Chadwick to all 7th and 8th grade students – The 7th and 8th grade classes will not be allowed to play on the gym floor during lunch again today due to numerous injuries, food being thrown and plates left on tables yesterday. Serious injuries resulted from students playing tag, so no future tag games will be allowed.

Track sign-up! 7th and 8th grade students that are interested in participating in track may sign up in the office. Remember you must have a physical on file in order to participate.
